The objective of #KUDOS is:

• work with residents to reduce their heating costs by placing plastic covers over their windows, weather-seal doors and caulk around windows
• provide an opportunity to bring together volunteers from local churches, businesses and non-profit organizations to serve their community;
• to forge community relationships with our neighbors in Northside and Eastside neighborhoods, who we would probably not ever meet in our daily lives;
• to provide volunteers the opportunity through service, to connect with the residents they serve, so that they can get to know each other; and
• to build a connection with the residents we serve over the years, into a bond of friendship and trust that we hope will endure.

 8:30 am:  Arrival and Check-In
Meet at Allen AME Chapel at 804 W North Street. WELCOME & Information Sharing.

Turn in your signed Volunteer Waiver DOWNLOAD. Receive materials and equipment

 9:00 am:  Meet & Greet
Each team will be assigned two homes to weatherize. Get to know the resident to whom you are assigned. Secure Resident’s signature on the Waiver and collect the signed Waiver

10:00 am:  Begin Work
Review with resident the windows that need to be caulked and/or covered with plastic. Verify the doors to be fitted with weather seal. Begin work, wear protective glasses and gloves. Keep hydrated and take breaks as required

1 pm:  Wrap up
